Post-Doctoral Scholar in Transportation Economics and Policy

The Ralph and Goldy Lewis Center for Regional Policy Studies (http://lewis.spa.ucla.edu), in association with the UCLA Institute of Transportation Studies (www.its.ucla.edu), invites applicants for a two-year Post-Doctoral Scholar position in transportation policy and planning.  We will also consider candidates who hold the rank of Assistant Professor who would like to visit UCLA for less than two years. While we are open to candidates with a wide variety of substantive interests, those candidates who emphasize economic analyses of transportation issues are particularly encouraged to apply.

The successful candidate for this position should have excellent research skills, clearly articulated transportation research interests, the ability to attract and execute transportation policy research, and the potential for outstanding teaching and scholarship.  Applicants should hold a Ph.D. in economics, engineering, geography, planning, political science, public policy, or related discipline by the time of appointment in the summer of 2008.

This two-year position offers a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience. The post-doctoral scholar will be expected to (i) contribute to ongoing transportation research projects as needed and (ii) develop and submit transportation research funding proposals in collaboration with UCLA faculty members.
